Becky St. Peter of Caribou enjoyed a night out at the Sock Hop, escorted by her nephews Philip St. Peter, left, and Kyle Anderson.
According to Janice St. Peter, there were as many as 150 adults, caregivers, families and friends representing various organizations and facilities within Aroostook County in attendance.
“We were privileged to hear the sounds of local musical artists who are members of the band ‘Sound Friendship,’ under the leadership of Lela Lyons and friends,” said St. Peter.
Marie Thibeault and associate Linda Dickenson catered the event, assisted by Loring Job Corps students, providing a wonderful array of food. Dr. Sherri and Pierre Dumont served as official photographers, capturing photo of attendees dressed in attire depicting the ‘sock hop’ era. A juke box, on loan from Todd Hedrich of Hedrich’s Vending created the perfect backdrop for the theme of the photographs.
Special thanks goes to the VFW Post 9389 and the following board members and volunteers who made this special night a success: Patrick Bennett, Andre Dumais, John Hedman, Mary Kirkpatrick, Lucy Nelson, Bonnie Pack, Candace Roy, Mike Quinlen, Janice St. Peter, Pam Wyman, AMACH Executive Director Lynn Murphy, Dee Dee Kelley, Ben Wyman, Melinda St. Peter, Philip St. Peter and Kyle Anderson.
