Nancy Haley of Presque Isle has been chosen as the overall winner of the Aroostook County Tourism spring photo contest for her photo of a fawn relaxing in a field of spring flowers. Other category winners include Elena Bourgoin of Fort Kent in the scenic views category, Laurie Smyth of Caribou for outdoor recreation and Gene Cyr of Washburn for the cities/towns division. Nancy Haley of Presque Isle has been chosen as the overall winner of the Aroostook County Tourism spring photo contest for her photo of a fawn relaxing in a field of spring flowers. The ACT summer photo contest begins next week and details are available online at www.visitaroostook.com/photo_contest.
The summer photo contest period begins July 1 and ends Aug. 20. The contest’s five categories include Aroostook County scenic views, wildlife, outdoor recreation, festivals/events and cities/towns. The photos must represent Aroostook County in the summer.
Winning photos will be displayed on the ACT website and may be used for marketing projects if permitted. Both amateur and professional photographers are welcome to participate. Photos may be submitted as prints or in digital format; see contest rules for details. There will be one overall winner with additional winners in each category.
The prize for the summer contest is a three month rental of a 10- by 10-foot storage unit at Storage Solutions in Presque Isle. The total value of the rental is $180. No purchase necessary to enter or win. Must be 18 years or older.
All photos must be submitted with an entry form and copyright release form if the photo is to be used by ACT for marketing purposes.
