Dixie is an approximately two-year-old spayed female who can’t decide if she is lost or found, according to Halfway Home Pet Rescue (HHPR) president Norma Milton. “She was wandering up and down Smith and Pleasant St. in Caribou until she got herself ‘rescued’ and brought to HHPR,” Milton said. Dixie appeared to be lost and volunteers at Halfway Home Pet Rescue seem certain that someone is searching for their ‘lost’ cat. If you are Dixie’s owner or know of her owner, please contact the HHPR at 492-1722 or send an email to milton@mfx.net. “Dixie is very loving, clean and healthy although she loves to give her food a very deep smell before she eats it, hence the dirty nose,” said Milton. Milton also encouraged that individuals consider attending the Grand Opening of Toby’s Treasures gift store on Saturday, July 3, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 246 Sweden St., site of the former Beaulieu’s Garage and next door to Burger Boy. “We are so hopeful that Toby’s Treasures will help us continue to provide the high quality medical care that our animals currently benefit from,” Milton said. “We are so very grateful for your contribution of returnable bottles at 88 Bennett Drive Redemption and your generous help at our collection jars. Without you we could not help all of these beautiful animals,” she added. HHPR is an all-volunteer staffed, state licensed animal shelter and a 501c3 corporation.
