    LENTO, Ruth M. “Gram Ruth”, 86, BLAINE, July 17, 2010. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill.


 

    BLAINE – Ruth M. Lento “Gram Ruth”, 86, left to be with her Lord on Saturday July 17, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 28, 1923, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Condon) Knox. Ruth was a member of the Mars Hill Apostolic Pentecostal Church for 51 years. She also loved cooking for all, and prepared school lunches for CAHS for over 25 years.
    Ruth leaves behind one son, William “Bill” Lento and his wife, Gloria of Blaine and Dade City, FL; a beloved daughter, Joanne (Lento) Holmes and her husband, John of Blaine; one loving sister, Nellie Knox of Presque Isle; and one longtime friend for a lifetime, Mabel Brown. Ruth was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Guy Lento in 1979; three sons: Stanley, Ronald and Robert Lento; ten brothers: Marshall, Joe, Herbert, Harold, Edward, Bernard, Richard, Paul, Stanley, and James Knox; and one sister, Jennie Woodman.
    The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Donald Sawyer and to Mary Coffin FNP for all the wonderful care.
    Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at the Mars Hill Apostolic Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Mel Calhoun, Bruce Arsenault, and Victor Hartley officiating. Friends called from 12 noon until time of service. Interment took place following the service at Tapley Cemetery in Blaine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Activity Dept. of the Aoostook Health Center, P.O. Box 410, Mars Hill, ME 04758; or to Hospice of Aroostook, P.O.
