PRESQUE ISLE – William J. Hirst Jr., 68, died Monday morning July 12, 2010, at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on January 13, 1942, the son of William J. and Vera (Dalton) Hirst. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He worked for 30 years at the Philadelphia Electric & Gas Co.
William is survived by his wife, Mildred (Brown) Hirst ; a son, William J. Hirst III; a daughter, Marie Schuler; all of Presque Isle; two sisters; his twin, Barbara Russneck; and Joan Babin; both of Philadelphia, PA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Dapheen McPherson of Presque Isle.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the Church of Jesus, Chapman Street, Presque Isle, with pastor Earl Durost officiating. Friends may call Thursday 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
