CARIBOU, MAINE – Leo G. McLaughlin, Jr., “Goofy”, age 65, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 13, 2010, surrounded by his children at his daughter’s home in Enosburg Falls, Vt.
He was born July 30, 1944, in Caribou, the son of the late Leo G. McLaughlin Sr. & Lena Mae (Wilcox) McLaughlin.
Leo was a mechanic by trade and also drove truck for many farmers in the area. Leo’s passions in life were his family, many friends and fishing which was his favorite pastime. He will be remembered for his willingness to always be there for anyone who needed his help.
He is survived by three sons, Leo G. McLaughlin, III and his wife, Karen of St. Albans, Vt., Mark McLaughlin of Winooski, Vt., Jason McLaughlin and his wife, Jackie of Caribou; three daughters and their husbands, Lisa & Richard Ouellette of Enosburg Falls, Vt., Nicole & Stephen LeSuer, Jr. of New Sweden, and Denise & Gary Whitmore of Ashland; 15 grandchildren, Shelley, Sierra, Heather, Courtney, Briana, Mark Jr., Lucas, Sebastian, Tyana, Brooklyn, Nakeisha, Richie, Jeremiah, Devin and Stephen III; three great-grandchildren, Savanna, Damien and Kaylee; two sisters, Thelma Frost and Mavis Carson both of Woodland; several nieces and nephews; also his childhood friend, Bud Skidgel of Caribou. Besides his parents, Leo was predeceased by his three brothers, Freddy, Raymond & Charlie McLaughlin; and six sisters, Pricilla Drost, Mable Brown, Myrtle Sjoberg, Gretchen Murphy, Helen McShea, and Shirley DeMoura.
Leo will be sadly missed and happily remembered by his family and many friends.
