The Houlton 11-12-year-old all-stars played two tournaments over the last two weekends, coming out on top in both of them.
In their first tournament on July 24-25, the all-stars played in the fifth annual Caribou Lions Little League Invitational Tournament.  Houlton beat Caribou 11-6 in the championship game.
On Saturday, Houlton opened the Caribou tournament with a 6-1 win behind Ben Tuttle’s pitching, as he only allowed two hits and no runs. Ryan Dee had three hits and Garrett Putnam had a single and a walk, while scoring two runs.
In Saturday’s second game, Houlton defeated Caribou 15-2 behind Ryan Dee’s pitching effort, as he scattered four hits over four innings, while striking out eight and walking none. Dee backed his own cause with three hits while scoring three times. Matt Tuttle chipped in with two doubles, while Parker Brewer, Ben Boutilier and Connor Grant each added two hits.
In Sunday’s championship game, Houlton defeated Caribou 11-6 with Dee picking up the win. Dee kept the Caribou hitters off balance mixing up his fastball and curve. He struck out 11 over six innings. Dee led the offense with four hits, while Putnam added two hits and Billy Phillips had a double.
On July 31, Houlton traveled to Millinocket to play in a Round Robin tournament. In the first game, Houlton battled Brewer for seven innings before coming out on top 6-5. Isia Bouchard preserved the win by throwing out the tying run at the plate from left field. Putnam scattered five hits over six innings, while walking one to pick up the win. Grant and Dee led the charge with two hits apiece, with Boutilier adding a double.
In the second game, Houlton shut out host Millinocket 21-0 in four innings. Ben Tuttle picked up the win while only allowing one hit. The offense was led by Boutilier with four hits, including a double and Dee with four hits, including an inside the park homerun. Ben Tuttle, Phillips, Putnam and Grant all added two hits and Josh Upton ripped a triple. Parker Brewer just missed hitting a homerun, as he hit the fence in centerfield, which is 218 feet away, settling for a double instead.
In the championship game Houlton defeated Brewer 9-2 behind a combined pitching effort from Dee and Ben Tuttle. Putnam led all hitters with a triple and two singles, as Boutilier, Grant, Phillips and Dee all added two hits apiece to power Houlton.
Houlton ended their all-star season with eight wins in 10 tries.
