ARSH Freda Clark OBFORT FAIRFIELD – Freda M. Clark, 87, wife of the late Samuel M. Clark, Sr., passed away Sunday morning, September 5, 2010, at a Caribou healthcare facility, after a brief illness. She was born October 12, 1922, in South Tilley, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Percy and Ethel (Williams) Payne. She attended schools in South Tilley, and was married to Samuel M. Clark, Sr., on July 28, 1943.

Freda was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, for many years, and in addition to being a dedicated homemaker, she had been employed with Brooks and later Rite Aid Pharmacies, Fort Fairfield, as a clerk.

Freda will be remembered by all who knew her as a gracious lady who saw only the good in people. She held a special love for all children and created afghans for many kids over the years, and loved making children happy. She also enjoyed flower gardening, reading, knitting and crocheting. Her family was the center of her world.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clark was predeceased by her husband, Samuel M. Clark, Sr., on July 31, 1972; one son, Samuel M. Clark, Jr., January 19, 1992; one grandson, Ryan R. Clark; one granddaughter, Tara L. Perry; two brothers, Vincent and Leslie Payne; four sisters, Dorothy Faulkner, Mildred Densmore, Margaret Crockett and Beatrice Carter.

She is survived by two sons, John T. Clark, Sr., and Robert P. Clark and his wife Sherry, all of Fort Fairfield; two daughters, Paula J. Perry and her husband Terrance of Rumford, and Cathy A. Clark and her husband, David Butler of Fort Fairfield; one brother, Norval Payne of South Tilley, New Brunswick; eight grandchildren, Tamara J. Perry of Norwich, CT, Tonya A. Sullivan and her husband, Joe, of Medford, MA, Troy J. Perry and his wife, April, of Georgia, VT, John T. Clark, Jr. of Bangor, Sarah Comstock of Portland, Ben Clark of Bangor, Whitney R. Clark and Brandon S. Clark, both of Fort Fairfield; twelve great-grandchildren, Dylan, Conor, Blake, Olivia and Jo Jo Sullivan, Tristan Dumas, Justin and Jordin Perry, Taylor and Hayden Clark, Alexandra Kelly and Noelle Faith Comstock; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends called Tuesday, September 7, 2010, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where a vigil service was conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Aaron Damboise. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Aaron Damboise celebrant. Interment will take place after the Mass at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the interment service.
