On Saturday, August 28, 27 runners and walkers took part in the Maliseet 4-Miler road race held in conjunction with the annual Maliseet Health Fair.
All participants received a hat with first male and female runners receiving a sweet grass basket made by local crafter Paul St. John.
Top male finishers were Larry Hodge (27:38) from Connecticut, and Bob Bryant (28:50) and Dale Lolar (29:21) of Indian Island. For the female division it was Angela Ewings (29:50) Littleton, Rhonda Ireland (34:20) Houlton, and Nicole Porter (34:41) from Caribou.
For walkers the top finishers included Chanan Bond (53:35) from Ludlow, Jen Stewart (53:50) from Linneus, and Lisa Hardy (56:56) from Houlton.
Organizers thank all the participants and volunteers that made the event go smoothly.
