Meet the candidates night a success

The Moluncus Valley Sno-Drifters Club was the site of a supper, hosting area Republican candidates, on Sept. 8.
Rick Long, declared Republican candidate for District 9 House of Representatives, led the group in the salute to the flag.  Everyone enjoyed a buffet supper prepared and served by Debbie Long and friends. After the meal Long introduced Sen. Roger Sherman, who represents District 34 of the State Senate. Sen. Sherman who is running for reelection discussed his views and what he hopes to accomplish for the state of Maine. Questions were accepted and answered.
Rep. Henry Joy, who has served District 9 in the House of Representatives and is now ending his eighth term, spoke briefly on the upcoming election. He also thanked everyone for their years of support given to him.
Jason Levesque running for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District was unable to attend, but did send his area representative, Troy Whitaker.  He gave Jason’s background and business experience that he feels Maine needs at this time.
Long ended the meeting with his thoughts and needs for this area of Maine. All the candidates and honored guests spoke and asked support for Paul LePage as the next governor. They spoke about his business back ground and ability to bring Maine into more favorable economical times.
