Incumbent is a passionate advocate
To the editor:
The voters in Presque Isle (House District 5) have the opportunity to re-elect Mike Willette to represent them in Augusta. Mike is finishing up his first term as a state legislator. He is a moderate who hasn’t hesitated to vote according to his conscience and his district, even when doing so has put him at odds with his party’s leadership.
I have served with Mike as a member of the State and Local Government Committee for the past two years. He is a fast learner; one who asks questions and gets answers before making decisions. He has been thoughtful and deliberative. The learning curve is steep for first-term legislators and Mike has demonstrated that he was up to that challenge.
Mike is a passionate advocate for his constituents, on the floor of the House and at home in Presque Isle addressing their individual needs and challenges. He gets things done.
In November, Presque Isle voters can return Mike to Augusta for a second term. Mike has done well and his constituents deserve his continued diligence. I urge you to re-elect Mike Willette to represent District 5.
