CCC&I team ready for last Craft Fair

To the editor:

This year’s Craft Fair will be our last on Oct. 16th and 17th, as a “team” together at the Caribou Chamber of Commerce & Industry. So, we’re going to have a party, with our crafters, each other, and hopefully all of you!

We’re going to begin selling tickets Oct. 1st for four things: a trip for two to Las Vegas; one for all the working women — A House Cleaning; a Bus Tour Trip; an iPad; an ATV; and for the children: an iPod (this one is free, just stop in and sign up).

We’re going to have the Cash Cube at the Crafts Fair, and a live remote Sunday afternoon. The drawings for these four items will be at noon on Sunday, and we’ll announce winners over the remote! The folks from Tatitudes will be with us Saturday to do airbrush tattoos for the children, and we’re going to have continuous awesome trinkets, and baubles for the Cash Cube winners (all free).

Tickets are a dollar each, or if you purchase $30 – we’ll cut you a deal for 40 tickets! We’ll sell them from now to noon on the 17th! I decided the money we raise will be split between our friends at the Caribou Historical Society, the Soup Kitchen and Caribou Kiwanis.

The last 10 years have seen many changes. We’ve lost some of our great champions of Caribou, and we’ve seen some businesses open, close, and people move away. And we’ve watched many more folks have babies, and those babies grow! They give me a reason to believe in Caribou, ourselves, and each other. We’re Vikings after all!

I have had so many board members, and clients who have invested much time and energy into our organization, and the overall success of our community. I was lucky to get a job at the CCC&I in 2001, and I have continued to feel fortunate to be of service here in Caribou, every day since. We have all been blessed to get to know so many of you, eat your food, purchase your wares, be introduced to your families, meet your pets, and to be a small part of your own community.

There are so folks we want to speak with personally before the end of the year, I don’t want to name names here, other than to highlight the many fine people who’ve I’ve been fortunate to work with in the offices over the years: Kirk Tibbetts, Pam Wyman, Cheryl LaFrance, Tina Lavoie, Kevin Huston, Laura Adams, Cortney Therrien, Annie Burgess, Monique Cormier, and most especially Norma Milton, Jenny Blackstone Coon and Jeannie McLaughlin.

Thank you for all your help, your hard work, your patience, and your commitment to our members, clients, crafters and community. Caribou is a better place for each one of you, and I could not have done my job without you. I hope you appreciate the pictures, do stop in and visit, don’t wait too long! And remember – you need tickets!
