The church’s evangelism committee chaired by Ruth Ross has decorated an Angel Tree with the names of family members (first names only), gender and age. The tags will be selected by congregation members who in turn will purchase and wrap a gift/gifts to be delivered by committee members.

2010 marks the third consecutive year that the angel tree has been part of the church’s Christmas events.

“Last year we had 21 families with 42 children,” stated Pastor Tom Bentum. “This year, our list includes more families with many more children. We are very grateful that we can assist in helping to make Christmas brighter for these local families.”

Project leaders will also be seeking donation from the congregation to buy food gift certificates at a local grocery store for each family, as last year’s efforts were particularly successful in this facet of holiday giving.

The church is located at 2 Prospect Street and can be reached by calling 498-2103.
