Evelyn Joan Anderson of Caribou and Clearwater, Fla., died Nov. 23, 2010, at Hospice House, Palm Harbor, Fla.
She was born Dec. 14, 1919, in Chippenham, Wiltshire, England, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Holder.
She married A. Atwood “Bud” Anderson of Caribou on May 7, 1945. They lived in Caribou, moving to Florida in 1978, while continuing to summer at Madawaska Lake.

Joan worked at the Maine Dept. of Motor Vehicles for a number of years.
She was a long-time member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, the Garden Club and County Club, all of Caribou. She won several trophies for her putting skills. She was also a Worthy Matron of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband; two sisters-in-law, Josephine Hills of Ocean Park, Maine, and Carol Hills of Mass.; several nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Great Britain.
A celebration of Joanie’s life was held Dec. 1 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Dunedin, Fla.
Contributions in Joanie’s memory may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Caribou.
