’Cats debut with meet at Orono

ORONO — A new season has begun for the Presque Isle boys and girls swim teams as the Wildcats competed Saturday at the Penobscot Valley Conference relay carnival at the University of Maine at Orono. The Wildcat girls placed sixth, while the boys were 11th.
The individual Wildcat girls results were:
200-yard medley—5, Presque Isle (Shae Adler, Grace Short, Erica Hemphill and Alecia Palmer), 2:14.96.
250 shuttle— 10, PI (Heather Nadeau, Jacqueline Lambert, Sara Gilson and Sarah McEachern), 3:12.65.
200 butterfly—5, PI, (Palmer, Adler, Erikka Murley and Hemphill), 2:19.91.
200 freestyle— 4, PI (Sarah McEachern, Short, Murley and Hemphill), 2:02.23.
200 backstroke — 4, PI (Palmer, Murley, Hemphill and Adler), 2:26.96.
200 breaststroke —7, PI (Lambert, Murley, Palmer and Adler), 2:43.10.
400 freestyle— 9, PI (Short, Lambert, McEachern and Adler), 5:14.05; and PI (Ashley Burlock, Gilson, Naomi McEachern and Heather Nadeau), 6:49.05.
