This network is one of the largest for Veterans under which DAV volunteer drivers drive sick and disabled veterans to and from VA medical facilities for treatment. Many of the veterans who use this program are seeking care for their service-connected disabilities. Others have limited resources, are too sick to drive or may have no access to public transportation.
Anyone wanting more information on this transportation program in Aroostook County can call DAV Transportation office at Togus at 623-5759.
The DAV van here in Aroostook County runs Monday and Thursday. If you have an appointment at Togus, VA Medical Facility, and you make an appointment with the Transportation Office, the van will pick you up at a local stop at a certain time.
