An Ice Fishing Derby, with a drawing, sponsored by Hodgdon High School Classes of 2011 and 2012 will be held Feb. 5. The fishing derby will be held from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nickerson, Drews, Cochran and Bradbury lakes and Hodgdon Mill Pond. Weigh-in is at Cameron’s Market in New Limerick.
The purchase of a $5 ticket allows a person to enter both the derby and the drawing. All participants should keep their ticket stub because it qualifies them to enter the drawing. The grand prize is $500, with the second-place prize, a $30 gift certificate and third place is a $15 gift certificate. The drawing will be held at 4:15 p.m. at Cameron’s Market.
Other ice fishing derby awards including gift certificates, fishing gear, baked goods, mittens, gloves, and much more. will be given out at 4 p.m.
First and second place prizes will be awarded for each species of fish — togue, trout/splake, pickerel, white perch and salmon with a prize also for the smallest fish.
