LIBRARIAN WELCOMED — Washburn’s Town Council and Town Manager/Clerk officially welcomed the new Library Director. From left, Bev Turner, Keith Brown, Kermit Fuller, librarian Katherine Veitschegger, Jeff Wark, Mike Umphrey and Fred Thomas.
She and her husband Dr. Joel Veitschegger, along with their Norwich Terrier, Onus, have been living in The County since July and are enjoying the local lifestyle. They especially like the seasons. Katherine noted that the Washburn residents have welcomed her into the community and have been exceptionally friendly.
Katherine is currently working on some re-shelving projects and she remains committed to getting the library up and running, with some slightly different hours to help accommodate the schedules of the area’s patrons. She especially thanks Assistant Librarian Janet Peary for all her invaluable help in providing her with incredibly useful assistance during her first week on the job.
She will be working on plans and ideas for the library, including Story Time for the youth, and welcomes suggestions or ideas from patrons. She is also willing to help with both student and adult researchers.
Feel free to drop by the Washburn Memorial Library to meet Katherine and check out the monthly hours, posted on the front door. Or if you happen to be in the Washburn Municipal Building, a copy of the hours will also be available upon request.
