On February 11 the Island Falls Historical Society held a food sale at Jerrys from 9—12, with Mary Fowler and Reneva Smith busily labeling the donated food as it arrived, and also selling it to any early shoppers who dropped by. On sale were many different sweets, homemade bread and muffins, and more. All proceeds go towards the restoration of the Tingley House, which is beginning to look just great, due to the hard work of many volunteers. The Country Jamboree, which is usually held every Wednesday at the snowmobile club house has been canceled the past 4 weeks due to bad weather and poor driving conditions, and recently, Clinton Roy, who has been heading the Jamboree, has suffered a heart attack, and been hospitalized. Everyone who has enjoyed the Wednesday night fun are hoping that it will soon return and that Mr. Roy will soon recover. Finally got the snow off my house, barn and woodshed and am hoping that no more of the white stuff will fall . Weatherman is predicting warmer weather soon and I’m sure we all look forward to that. Have been really busy making my peanutbutter and lard mixture for the birds ( and Squirrels) as they eat it all up almost as soon as I put it out. Have lots of pine siskin, chickadees, woodpeckers, and some gold finch. Haven’t seen the cardinal for quite awhile. Also, the deer are slow in returning to the dooryard since the last two storms. Put out some apples and bread but I think the starlings and bluejays got most of it the day after I put it out as it was not eaten by the deer. Hopefully, they will return.

Loser of the week was Janice Shaw with runner-up Dellie Bennett. The skinny dish was taken home by Dale Holden. Several minutes of exercises were led by Barbara Troy.
Many of the members are on the sick list. Get well, friends. The program was given by Joyce pertaining to basics and getting back to the same. She told us to be sure and eat a balanced meal or diet. Get the vegetables and fruits as fresh as possible. Don’t be fooled by packaged goods.
