Local ladies make goodies for biathlon

The Spragueville Homemakers Extension members have recently been busy being involved with community events.

On Friday, Jan. 28, members prepared and served the meal at the Presque Isle Snowmobile Club’s weekly Stew Night. Members served chili, corn chowder, tortellini soup, corn fritters, homemade wheat and white rolls, in addition to a wonderful variety of homemade pies for dessert. A large crowd was on hand to enjoy the meal, with many compliments made to the cooks!

A “Raffle Basket” filled with a nice assortment of items was also furnished by the Extension, with the winner of the basket being Judy Cleaves.

Following this community service project, members were once again busy in their kitchens baking homemade goodies to aid the Hospitality Committee at the World Cup Biathlon Competition, providing morning refreshments for Feb. 4.

The upcoming project for the Extension during their busy schedule will be furnishing and assisting with refreshments at the Aroostook State Park “Take It Outside Day” on Saturday, Feb. 26.

The Spragueville Extension members enjoy and take pride in assisting and contributing to these hometown special events.
