Ruth Evangeline Rouse

CARIBOU – Ruth Evangeline Rouse, 87, passed away on February 26, 2011, at Borderview Rehab and Living Center, Van Buren. She was born December 17, 1923, in Washburn, the daughter of Loredo and Pearl (Beardsley) Rouse.

Ruth graduated from Washburn schools and from Aurora college in Aurora, Illinois. She started her teaching career in Mapleton, and later taught at Damon school in Limestone, until her retirement in 1981.

Ruth was a member of the United Baptist Church of Caribou. She was a frequent visitor of the Caribou Public Library and an avid astronomy buff.

She is survied by one sister, Joyce Goodwin of Goodwin Mills.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents; brothers: Edgar, Henry, Ray, and Darrell; and sisters: Pearl Rouse, Olive Whittemore, and Mabel Beard.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Caribou Public Library.
