Athletes garner honors

    Athletes have been named as Aroostook County all-stars for their accomplishments during their sport seasons.
    All-Aroostook team sports — soccer, basketball, baseball, softball and tennis — are selected by the coaches, while individual sports — cross country, golf, alpine and Nordic skiing, swimming, wresting and track and field — are selected by criteria established by the Aroostook League.
    Athletes are awarded an All-Aroostook certificate.
    Named as All-Aroostook selections for the winter season are:
    Class B/C boys basketball: Caribou, Chad Caverhill, Stephen St. Peter and Roland Thibodeau; Fort Kent, Jared Soucy; Hodgdon, Josh Hudson; Houlton, Nick Guiod; Madawaska, Matt Deschenes and Deejay Gendreau; and Presque Isle, Travis Dyer, Alex Tuttle and Oliver Zubrick.
    Class B/C girls basketball: Caribou, Alexa Massey, Dayna Michaud and Jenna Selander; Fort Kent, Samantha Carapellucci; Hodgdon, Mariah Wiley; Houlton, Taylor Bailey, Marina Cameron and Amanda Fogarty; Madawaska, Erin Dugal and Presque Isle, Chandler Guerrette, Chelsea Nickerson and Kayla Richards.
    Class D boys basketball: Ashland, Kenneth Tarr; Central Aroostook, Caleb Kelly, Mike McClung and Logan McLaughlin; Easton, Jonah Bacon and Reid Clark; Fort Fairfield, Travis Noyes; Greater Houlton Christian Academy, Micah Wiley; Katahdin, Colton Bivighouse and Brandon Robinson; Limestone/MSSM, Josh Forsman; Southern Aroostook, Cody Robinson; Washburn, Connor Fitzpatrick, Jordan McLaughlin and Mitch Worcester and Wisdom, Curtis Picard.
    Class D girls basketball: Ashland, Whitney Donovan and Brooke Labelle; Central Aroostook, Rachael Grew, Kristen Long and Vicki McIntyre; East Grand, Elisha Farley; Easton, Ariana Babineau and Carla Halvorson; Fort Fairfield, Brooke Beaulieu and Amanda Hotham; Greater Houlton Christian Academy, Destinee Neureuther; Katahdin, Megan Merry; Southern Aroostook, Shelby Hartin and Jasmine Rockwell; Van Buren, Parise Rossignol and Ashlie Wilson and Washburn, Carmen Bragg and Rebecca Campbell.
