The Harlem Superstars are making a return appearance to the Houlton High School Alumni gymnasium on April 1 at 7 p.m. to play the Senior Dream Team.
For anyone who has seen the show, the Harlem Superstars who are still with the team from their last appearance in Houlton are 7-foot Ricky Lopes, Chris “Chicken” Turnquest and Kevin “Showboat” Jackson. New to the show will be Avery “Slick” Stevenson, Mark “Hollywood” Jones, Steve “Surfer Boy” Faulkner and Jason “White Shadow” Gibbons.
In their last show in Houlton, kids in the crowd giggled, while players on the court were dazed and confused by what to expect next from the Harlem Superstars.
The Superstars razzle and dazzle the crowd and throw in a few slam dunks and a few half-court shots. The game starts like any ordinary basketball game, but from there, anyone’s guess is how it will be played out. The Superstars may be executing a play one minute and the next, dancing to the music or getting the crowd laughing with a few shannigans.
No matter what, everyone leaves the gymnasium with a smile … and, you get to see some basketball skills too.
