Trombley wins Reeves tourney
PRESQUE ISLE – The 10th annual Al Reeves Memorial Tournament was held March 12 at Northern Lanes, with 40 bowlers participating in a five-string total plus handicap tourney. The top 12 advanced to a bracket format, with the top four seeds receiving byes.
In the finals, Craig Trombley bested Tyler Eager, 146-116. Trombley’s road to the championship included a 126-122 win over Jeff Nichols, a 117-110 victory over Michael Lee and a 118-110 triumph over Chip Hafford. Eager reached the title match after dispatching Larry Little, 139-120; topping Dave Donahue, 145-120; and stopping Craig Nickerson, 114-109.
Also in the top-12 were Ray Miller, Tracis Morris, Mike Gardner and Tom Pelkey.
High single went to Mona Reiersen for women with a 123 and Donahue for the men with a 175. Both also had the high average – Reirsen with a 102.2 and Donahue with a 136.
