A HAIR-RAISING EXPERIENCE

Julie Howlett, of Mapleton, was among the few hundred people who attended the Francis Malcolm Science Center’s open house Saturday in Easton. Here, she places her hand on the Van de Graaf generator dome, which produces a massive voltage of static charge causing her hair to stand up wildly. Sharing in the laughter is Larry Berz, planetarium director and astronomy educator at the science center.
A story and more photos from the open house will appear in an upcoming issue of The Star-Herald.
