SHERMAN STATION – Pauline Farmer, 97, wife of the late Cecil Farmer, died May 21, 2011, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Patten, the daughter of William and Albra Webster McGraw.
Pauline is survived by her son, Joseph of Island Falls; daughter, Patricia and her husband, Donald Lord, of Jefferson; a granddaughter, Katie Lord and her husband, Adam West, of Sevierville, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Crommett; and three brothers, Howard, Glenn and William McGraw.
Pauline graduated from Patten Academy and Gorham Normal School, and continued her education at the University of Maine. She began her teaching career in Charleston and later taught in Patten, Auburn and Sherman. She was a communicant at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Benedicta, with interment at St. Benedicts Cemetery. A time of fellowship will be held immediately after at the parish center. Gifts in her memory may be sent to Patten Alumni Association, P.O.
