Miss Caribou pageant on Friday, May 27

On Friday, May 27, four young Caribou ladies will grace the stage at the Caribou Performing Arts Center, each hoping to capture the crown and title of Miss Caribou 2011. The annual Miss Caribou Scholarship Pageant, sponsored by the Caribou Lioness Club, will begin at 7 p.m.

The evening affair, centered around this year’s theme, “This ‘70s Show,” promises to provide a full slate of musical and dance presentations performed by the contestants, as well as special entertainment provided by other newly crowned Caribou royalty.

Contestants in the 2011 Miss Caribou Pageant are:

Kayla Collins, 17, the daughter of Shawn and Heidi Manter is a senior at Caribou High School and will be performing a vocal selection during the talent segment of the pageant.

Mary Jo Sheehan is the daughter of William and Laurie Sheehan. The 17-year-old CHS senior will provide a vocal selection for her talent presentation.

Brianna Gorence, 18, will be performing a self-composed  enpointe ballet routine as her talent. The CHS senior is the daughter of Richard and Paula Gorence.

Elizabeth Keaton is the 18-year-old daughter of Michael and Susan Keaton. The CHS senior will present a vocal selection during the talent portion of the annual pageant.    

From the moment the lights dim and the opening number is performed live on stage by 2010 Miss Caribou Aly Michaud, joined by the four contestants in a dance routine choreographed by Krista Albert, the excitement promises to build from the first introductions, through the talent performances, the evening gown promenade to the crowning of Miss Caribou 2011.

Tickets for the May 27 pageant are $6 and available from any of the contestants and also at Images, The Hair Affair, Serenity Beauty & Spar or at the door.

Come to CPAC, 7 p.m. on Friday and be a part of the excitement, congratulate  Aly Michaud, Miss Caribou 2010 on a job well done and wish her well then witness the crowning of the city’s newest royalty.
