VaJoWa is open!
All 18 holes with carts.
Member work day was a huge success! A huge thanks to everyone who participated. It was a whirlwind of rakes, shovels, chainsaws, mulch and more. I’ve never seen a harder working bunch! We followed up with some grillin’ and a few frosty beverages. You are all truly appreciated not only for your support, but your friendship, as well.
The course is in great shape! Despite all the recent rain, it is rather dry. The front nine is open with carts and we plan to have the back nine open this weekend. We are offering some great specials and new membership plans. Please give me a call with any questions. You may also check us out at vajowa.com or on Facebook.
The Jim Dyer Memorial has been moved to Sunday, May 29th. Come celebrate Jim’s life with us and his family. It will be a four-person scramble and everyone is welcome. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. Call for details or just show up. All proceeds will go to the Anah Shrine Children’s Hospital.
VaJoWa Couples
The first play for the Couples League was held on Sunday. Couples participating were Joe and Jarice Kelley, Francis and Sally Cyr, Jon and Betty Smallwood, Ralph and Valerie Powers, and Ted and Terry Pettengill.
First place went to the Kelley/Cyr group and second to the Smallwood/Powers group.
Next Sunday will be the Jim Dyer Memorial so there will be no Couples League. The next couples’ play will be Sunday, June 5th, with a meeting at 2 p.m. followed by golf at 3 p.m. Anyone is welcome.
The course is in great shape and the black flies didn’t carry anyone off! I hope to see you swingin’ in soon!
