Results of the high school baseball and softball games from last week are as follows:
On Monday in Hodgdon, Nick Lunn’s solo homer in the seventh lifted the Hawks to a 7-6 win over visiting Central Aroostook, continuing their five-game winning streak.
The Panthers led 2-1 after two innings until Hodgdon took control in the bottom of the fifth, 5-4. The Panthers wouldn’t go away that easily, as Logan McLaughlin’s two-run homer gave his team the lead in the top of the sixth. But, the Hawks answered with a run in the bottom of the frame to tie the game, setting up Lunn’s heroics.
Besides the home run, Lunn singled twice and had three RBIs, while Connor Murphy singled twice and drove in a run. Ryan Wellington picked up the win on the mound.

In Dyer Brook on Monday, the Southern Aroostook Warriors and visiting Fort Fairfield Tigers were tied 1-all until the bottom of the fourth when SACS’ Joe Frazier delivered a two-run double, as the Warriors scored four runs for a 5-1 lead.
The Warriors went on to pick up the 9-1 victory.
Frazier added a run-scoring single in the sixth, as well. Pat Goodall took the win with 10 strikeouts and six walks. Goodall also hit a solo blast in the sixth. Cody Robinson doubled twice, while Jesse Boulier singled twice and drove in two runs.
In softball action on Monday, the visiting Central Aroostook Lady Panthers overpowered Hodgdon, 18-6 by erupting for 12 third-inning runs.
Vicki McIntyre led CAHS with two singles, a double and home run. Shannon Todd and Paige Garrison each had two singles.
For Hodgdon, Haley Quint connected for three singles, while Julia Neher and MacKenzie York each hit a pair of singles.
In Stacyville, the Katahdin Lady Cougars overtook Schenck, 7-3 on Monday.
Makayla Patterson drove in a run and hit two singles, while Megan Merry singled and scored three times. Bailey McNally belted a run-scoring single.
In Dyer Brook, the Southern Aroostook Lady Warriors cruised by Fort Fairfield, 24-9 on Monday. Through five innings, SACS’ Rochelle Sirois struck out five, walked nine and scattered five hits.
Leading the offense were Olivia Raymond, with a triple, a single and two RBIs; Kaitlyn Sommers, two singles, including a two-run single in the fourth, with three RBIs; Katie Goodall hit a two-run double in the fourth and singled for two RBIs and Nicole White had a pinch hit single with two RBIs.HEAD FIRST — Janel Rockwell of Southern Aroostook dives into home plate during last week’s game against East Grand, as catcher Shaunna Beaudoin goes for the ball.
On Saturday, the Katahdin Cougars split with host Deer Isle-Stonington, losing the first contest 12-4 and taking the second game to the limit to win, 1-0.
In the opener, Kolby Gallagher had two singles and Billy Livezey hit a run-scoring single in the loss.
In the second game, Cody Cunningham fired a seven-hit shutout and combined it with the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth for the victory.
Gallagher and Brady McNally each doubled in Katahdin’s winning effort.
The Greater Houlton Christian Academy baseball team was busy on Saturday with a doubleheader against Shead in Danforth and Wisdom in Hodgdon.
In the opening game against Shead, the Eagles fell 14-7. Russell Socoby led GHCA with a double, while Adam Little hit an RBI-single.
At Hodgdon against Wisdom, the Eagles were defeated 19-5.
Aaron Holmes singled twice for GHCA.
The East Grand Lady Vikings picked up a 4-3 win in their opening game of a doubleheader with Shead on Saturday. The Lady Tigers edged East Grand, 8-6 in the second game.
In the opener, East Grand scored its winning run in the bottom of the fourth. Lauren Morse hit a single and drove in two runs, while Allie McEwen singled. Kaitlyn Beaudoin scattered seven hits to pick up the win.
In the second game, East Grand fell behind 8-2 until they scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to cut into the lead.
Shaunna Beaudoin doubled twice, while Morse smacked a two-run single.
At Fort Fairfield on Saturday, Hodgdon swept the host Lady Tigers, 17-5 and 19-18 in their games.
In the opener, Kim Levesque keyed Hodgdon’s offense with two triples, a single and two RBIs. While Maya Gardiner belted a three-run homer.
In the second game, Fort Fairfield had built a 15-8 lead, but the Lady Hawks chipped away until Amanda Ryan’s single drove in the winning run in the seventh inning. Neher had two singles and Gardiner a solo blast.
Last Friday in Houlton, the Lady Shires defeated Foxcroft Academy, 17-5.
Taylor Bailey hit a homer in the bottom of the sixth to end the game. She had four runs and knocked in three runs. Alaina Stewart had an RBI-single and three-run triple, while Tori Hanson singled three times. Abby Kinens added two singles and two runs.
On Friday, the Houlton Shiretowners fell to visiting Foxcroft Academy, 9-6 after Kevin Leary hit a two-run homer in the sixth.
Straubel doubled, singled twice and drove in two runs, while Ian Gervais doubled and singled to bring in a run.
After an 11-run first inning, the Southern Aroostook Warriors cruised by visiting Washburn, 21-1 on Friday.
Senior Jake Lassonde held the Beavers to one run on one hit, three walks and 12 strikeouts. Frazier singled and hit a solo blast in the third, while Boulier had two singles and scored three times. Ryland King had a two-run double and Will McGary hit an RBI-double.
On the softball diamond, the Lady Warriors raced by Washburn, 16-4 in five innings last Friday.
Desirae Dubois tripled, doubled twice for five RBIs, while Sirois collected three singles for four RBIs. Janel Rockwell singled twice for an RBI, while Jillian Diaferio had a pair of hits. Olivia Raymond singled twice and drove in a run, while Kaitlyn Sommers doubled and singled and Shelby Hartin doubled and had two singles.
Last Thursday night, the Hodgdon Hawks overtook host Houlton, 10-7. The Hawks capitalized on 11 walks, while Wellington doubled and singled and drove in two runs and Jake Tidd, along with Tyler Sherman each singled twice and brought in a run.
For Houlton, Isaiha Straubel had a pair of base hits and Ben Flewelling hit an RBI-double.
On the softball diamond last Thursday, Houlton topped Hodgdon, 16-4 behind Bailey’s nine strikeouts and six walks. Ashley Drew provided the offense with a two-run single in the third and an run-scoring single in the fourth, while Hanson singled for two RBIs.
For Hodgdon, Gardiner belted a three-run triple in the second.
In Bangor on Thursday, the Bangor Christian Patriots defeated Katahdin, 5-1.
The Patriots’ Tyler Alexander fashioned a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts. The Cougars’ Kolby Gallagher scored their lone run in the top of the fourth.
At Bangor last Thursday, Bangor Christian topped Katahdin, 8-1.
Smallwood led Katahdin with an RBI single. The Lady Cougars only run was scored in the top of the first.

At Brewer last Thursday night, the Lady Cougars ran away from Lee Academy, 21-7.
Myah Smallwood hit two doubles, a single and drove in three runs. Bailey McNally singled twice for an RBI, while Lizzie Knowles hit a run-scoring single.
The Greater Houlton Christian Academy lost to Wisdom, 15-4, last Thursday in St. Agatha.
Ryan Campbell doubled and singled to drive in a run, while Zac Ebner and Little each hit an RBI-single.
On Thursday in Dyer Brook, Vance Gustin fanned 14 batters and walked three, while throwing a shortened no-hitter, 16-0.
Robinson tripled, singled twice and drove in two runs, while Boulier tripled, doubled and brought in two runs. Dylan Porter had a pair of singles and knocked in three runs.
In a make-up game last Thursday, the Lady Warriors fell to visiting Ashland, 14-10.
For SACS, Hartin singled and doubled for four RBIs, while Sommers stroked three singles and drove in two runs and Raymond singled twice and had two 2 RBIs.
Sirois pitched for SACS and had 10 strikeouts. The Lady Warriors fell behind early, 7-4 after four, coming up short on the comeback.
Last Wednesday in Dyer Brook, the Southern Aroostook Warriors overpowered East Grand, 23-0 with an 18-run second inning.
Anthony Diaferio led the way with a double and four RBIs, while Robinson doubled and singled to drive in three runs. Porter singled twice for three RBIs.
For East Grand, Logan Crone, Nick Gray and Cleve Kenyon all singled.
In softball last Wednesday, the Lady Warriors picked up a 14-6 win over visiting East Grand.
Offensively, Sommers hit a two-run home run and an RBI-double to knock in three runs, while Hartin tripled, had a run-scoring single and an RBI. For East Grand, K. Beaudoin hit a three-run triple and single and picked up another RBI on an error. McEwen singled.
Last Tuesday in Hodgdon, the Hawks used three pitchers — Lunn, Wellington and Chris Wallace — to no-hit the Greater Houlton Christian Academy in five innings. The trio combined for seven strikeouts and five walks.
Offensively for Hodgdon, Tidd hit a two-run homer and triple, while Erik Ryan delivered a double and two singles for an RBI. Sherman and Drew Gough each singled twice, with Sherman driving in two runs and Gough knocking in one run. Josh Hudson added a two-run double for the winners.
For GHCA, Little hit a sacrifice fly.
The SACS Warriors swept a doubleheader from host Fort Kent, 10-0 and 6-5.
In the opener, Boulier singled twice and drove in two runs, while Goodall poked a solo homer. Robinson doubled and singled, driving in a run. Lassonde also had a solo blast.
In the second game, Robinson singled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Goodall collected three singles, while Boulier doubled and singled. SACS led 5-4 until the bottom of the seventh when Fort Kent tied the score.
Last Tuesday at Fort Fairfield, the Lady Warriors raced by the Lady Tigers, 19-4.
Diaferio doubled and singled to drive in three runs, while Sirois had three singles for two RBIs.
The Lady Warriors led 11-4 after three innings.
