Sydney Charlotte Bradshaw
Valedictorian
Clark Rafford, principal of Hodgdon High School, has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2011. The valedictorian is Sydney Charlotte Bradshaw; salutatorian is Amanda Kae Ryan; first honor essayist is Philip Johan Lycette; second honor essayist is Kerriann Lynn Estabrook; and third Honor Essayist is Daniel Joseph Heinrichs.
Bradshaw is the daughter of Jami Cass of Ludlow and Peter Bradshaw of Glenburn. During her high school career, she has taken multiple advanced placement, honors and early college courses. She is the Principal’s Award recipient and is a member of the National Honor Society. Bradshaw has been a four-year member of both the high school chorus and the Student Focus Group. She has been a class officer during her high school career serving as treasurer for three years and as president her senior year. Sydney played soccer both her junior and senior years, rising to captain her senior year. She has been a four-year active member of Upward Bound, has served as a tutor for middle school and has been a counselor at the Aroostook Team Leadership Camp. She is enrolled at the University of New England where she will be majoring in the pre-medical program.

Salutatorian
Ryan is the daughter of Lynn and Dana Ryan of Ludlow. She is the current president of the National Honor Society, serves on the executive board of Dollars for Scholars, was the president of Jobs for Maine’s Graduates for three years, was a student council member serving as its secretary for two years and president for two years. She was also president of her class for two years. Amanda was the recipient of the George Eastman Young Leaders Award from the University of Rochester her junior year, and received the “Commander’s Coin” from CSM Tash in planning the Veteran’s Breakfast in November of 2009. Ryan has accumulated many hours of community service through four years of volunteer work at Hospice of Aroostook and coordinating and planning the annual Carter Cummings walk for childhood cancer. She played four years of varsity soccer, three years of varsity basketball, and four years of varsity softball, serving as a senior captain in all three sports. Amanda is enrolled at the University of Maine at Orono Honors College for Psychology.Philip Johan Lycette
First Honor Essayist
Lycette is the son of Peter and the late Lisa Lycette of Amity. He has played three years of basketball and two years of baseball. He has received honors all through high school and was chosen to be a teacher’s assistant for the technical education program at the high school. Lycette is still weighing his options for next year.

Second Honor Essayist
Estabrook is the daughter of Cathy and Wade Estabrook of Hodgdon. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Jobs for Maine Graduates, serving as each organization’s vice president. She was a three-year member of the Student Focus Group and a member of the Executive Board of Dollars for Scholars. She has been a secretary for her class in the past and is involved in an abundance of community service activities. She is also an active and engaged member of her church. Estabrook is enrolled at the University of Maine at Presque Isle in the College of Education.Daniel Joseph Heinrichs
Third Honor Essayist
Heinrichs, son of Glen and the late Lori Heinrichs of Hodgdon. He has completed many advanced placement and honors classes in his high school career. He has been a member of the high school band for four years and the All Aroostook band for two years. He has been a four year member of the Student Focus Group and has served on the Executive Board of Dollars for Scholars; additionally he is the treasurer of the senior class. He will be attending Hudson University in the fall majoring in chemistry.
