Houlton’s Community Market announces logo contest

Houlton’s ever growing and successful “Community Market” has announced it will host a logo contest to all area resident artists.
The Community Market features local area farmers with their fresh produce and baked goods, crafters and artists. The Market opened in Houlton’s Downtown Market Square on May 28 and will remain open each Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. through Oct. 8.
    The logo contest is open to anyone wishing to submit his or her work for review by the Community Market Board of Directors.
The board will choose the top five finalists. These five pieces of art will then be displayed at the Community Market for public viewing and voting.
The winner will be announced on Aug. 20, at the Market during the Potato Feast Days celebration. The winner of the contest will win a bountiful basket donated by the vendors of the Community Market. Entries may be mailed to the Greater Houlton Chamber of Commerce, 109 Main St., Houlton, Maine 04730 or dropped of at the chamber, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information, call the Chamber of Commerce at 532-4216 or e-mail chamber@greaterhoulton.com.
