The town of Portage Lake will be hopping with activity this weekend as the town continues to celebrate Independence Day. The following events will be taking place Saturday, July 9:

• Town Parade at 11 a.m. on Main Street.

• Motorcycle Rodeo at the Town Hall beginning at noon. This event is a lot of fun as a participant or spectator. Come watch as your favorite local riders compete in fun games showcasing their riding skills or ride your hog into town, show off your bike and compete in this fun event!

• Pig Roast at the Town Hall beginning at 2 p.m. The Portage Lakers Snowmobile Club will be hosting this annual favorite. Come out to support the club while feasting on scrumptious roast pig and taking the opportunity to visit with neighbors, friends and snowbirds! This is absolutely an event we all look forward to. There is inside seating available.
