NESHRM announces fall employment conference
PRESQUE ISLE — The Northeast Society for Human Resource Management (NESHRM) is pleased to announce that the 15th annual Employment Law & Human Resource Conference will be held Thursday, Sept. 15 at The Crow’s Nest Event Center. This conference is designed for everyone from small business to large corporation, including small business owners, managers, supervisors, executives and human resource professionals.
The conference theme is “HR Reality — Are You Keeping Up With The Times?” Scheduled presenters include Peter Lowe, esquire, partner at Brann & Isaacson, speaking on Maine workers and medical marijuana; David Ciullo, president of Career Management Associates, who will present “Best Practices in Succession Planning”; Nancy Nichols, LCPC, NCC, counselor with Transformations, LLC, who will discuss “Puzzling People (An Overview of the 4 Temperaments)”; Peter Gore, vice president for advocacy and government relations for the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, who will provide a legislate update; and Richard Tucker, esquire, founding partner of Tucker Law Group, who will speak about Maine Workers’ Compensation. Lunch is provided for seminar attendees and various vendors will have displays and information available.
NESHRM is an affiliate of the national HR organization, the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Chapter meetings are generally held on the third Thursday of the month at 8 a.m. at the Edmunds Conference Center at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle. Meetings are open to anyone in the Aroostook County area in the HR profession. The meeting programs and speakers address pertinent HR management and legislative issues.
