Northern Zumba
The Presque Isle Recreation & Parks Department and Northern Zumba are pleased to offer zumba.

Friday morning minor league games were two hard fought battles at the pool. Key Bank came up with a 7-2 win over Katahdin Trust. Jake Stevens was the winning pitcher in the dual with nine strikeouts in three innings of work, with two innings of help from Jonah Hudson, they combined for 15 strikeouts. Jake Stevens and Kyler Caron both had doubles for Key Bank. Jonah Hudson went two for three and Jake Stevens went three for three for Key Bank. Jacob Sjoberg, Riley Roderick, Riley Kinney, Trace Cyr, Brad Tilley combined for seven BBs. For Katahdin Ricky Goupille had 4 Ks and at the plate Michael Berube had a single in the fourth.
At Pine Street, NorState Federal County Union beat The County Federal County Union 6 to 2. Erik Tompkins was the winning pitcher, striking out 17 batters in 6 innings. Taren Winger pitched well in the defeat. Erik Tompkins came up with a double for NFCU combining with Connor Demerchant for 4 RBIs. Jaren Winger had one single and a double for the CFCU and Mason Young came up with a couple great defensive plays in the loss.
High School June 23
In high school league action the Wildcats opened the season with a nice come from behind victory over Caribou. Trailing 5 to 1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning the Wildcats scored eight runs to pull out the win by a score of 9 to 5. Leading Presque Isle’s offense were Wilder York with a triple and a single, Ryley Norton, Scott Rhynold, Andrew Paterson and Jacob Player all had singles, and Isaac LaJoie had a huge three run triple to lead the attack. Ryley Norton, Jacob Player and Wilder Work pitched for Presque Isle combing for 9 strikeouts and allowing 6 hits. Jacob Player picked up the win and Wilder York earned the save. Making some key defensive plays for Presque Isle were Karson Wilcox, Isaac LaJoie, Wilder York, Saul Nunez, Ryley Norton, Cody Flannery and Scott Rhynold.
Major League June 22
In Majors the Elks and Kiwanis face off in the first game of the season. The Kiwanis rallied back with 8 runs, include the game winning run crossing the plate in the top of the 5th. Denny Young pitched 3 strong innings with Bradley Kinney being awarded the win in the final inning for Kiwanis. Grant Steward and Logan Michaud pitched well for the Elks. Austin Bouchard led the charge with 2 singles with Devin Ireland crossing the plate to take the final lead of the game. Also strong offensively Logan Michaud and Grant Steward both had a pair of extra base hits. Grant Bridges also had strong plays in the field defensively. Kiwanis beat the Elks 8-7.
Major League June 24
Friday morning’s game between the Kiwanis and Rotary was a pitchers dual with Rotary coming up on top 4 to 1. Nic Olore showed great command on the mound with 16 strikeouts and only 1 walk. Nick Bartlett came up big for Rotary with a two out two RBI double in the bottom of the fifth to give Rotary a cushion. Alexis Quevedo had great defensive plays at shortstop for Rotary. Max Bartley, Alexis Quevedo, Nic Olore, Chandler Paradis, Pat Cash and Kyle Plourde drew 7 walks for Rotary. Khasen Lowe was impressive on the base paths for Rotary as well. For Kiwanis Denny Young pitched four strong innings and also went 2 for 3 at the plate. Devin Ireland also had a couple nice plays at second base for the Kiwanis.
Pony League June 22
On Wednesday North State Image Works defeated Ashland by a score of 11 to 2. Winning pitcher was Aaron Kofstad. Gearing key hits for NSIW at the plate were Scott Rhynold with two home flies and Aaron Kofstad with a double. Keegan Lowe, Sam Gray, Cooper Madore and Aaron Kofstad made nice defensive plays to help seal the victory.
Rod Brewer Design lost to Mapleton by a score of 14 to 2. Josh Gordon, Andrew Paterson, David Cyr, Nic Olore and Matthew Tilley drove in runners. Playing nice defense for RBD were Josh Gordon, Michael Dovovan, Nic Olore, David Cyr and Andrew Paterson.
Pony League June 23
Thursday saw NSIW defeated Washburn by a score of 13 to 1. Ben Buckley pitched well for NSIW to earn the win NSIW led at the plate by Ben Buckley with a double, Cooper Madore had two singles, and Scott Rhynold hit a double and three near homeruns. Playing good defense for NSIW were Cooper Madore, Scott Rhynold, Keegan Lower and Aaron Kofstad.
