Island Falls Summer Fest 5K Run/4K Walk is Aug. 6

The 19th annual Island Falls Summer Fest 5K Run or 4K Walk will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6, starting at the Island Falls Municipal Building.
There is a half-mile run for children ages 9 and under, which starts at 8:45 a.m.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. Preregistration cost is $12 or $15 on race day. The first 100 who register will receive a special Summer Fest T-shirt. The roadway course consists of pavement and/or gravel, with a water station at the halfway point of the run/walk.
Again, homemade pies will be awarded to the top finishers overall, male and female runners and first overall walker; and the first finisher in each category for the following groups: Under 14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69 and over 70 for male and female walkers and runners.
Random drawings worth more than $1,000 for 50 door prizes will also be held.

Pie auction takes place around 10:30 a.m. after the race is complete.
