When you are out and about during the upcoming Caribou Cares About Kids festivities (Aug. 11-14), don’t forget to stop by the Grey Memorial United Methodist Church on Saturday, Aug. 13, and satisfy your hunger with a complete barbecue chicken dinner.
The annual event held in the church driveway on the corner of Prospect and Sweden streets will begin at 10 a.m., providing mountains of barbecued chicken smothered and cooked in a very “secret” sauce (one that has been carefully guarded over the years) through mid-afternoon.
Of course one can’t have just one-half of a chicken for lunch, but not to worry, as there will also be potato salad, coleslaw, beans, rolls, brownies, ice cream and a beverage included with the meal, at the mere price of $10.
Guests are invited to share fellowship while enjoying their lunch at the picnic area on the church lawn; however takeout meals will also be available.
For more information contact the church office at 498-2103.
