DYER BROOK — State Police arrested two Glenburn men in connection with a burglary that occurred in Dyer Brook early Thursday morning.
Aaron Albert, 18, and Jeffrey Sinclair, 19, both of Glenburn were arrested and charged with the burglary of items from Midnight Auto in Dyer Brook, according to Sgt. Tom Pelletier of the Maine State Police.
Daniel McNally, owner of Midnight Auto in Dyer Brook, reported to the state police that his business had been burglarized. McNally reported several batteries, mostly new, totaling $2,500, had been stolen. Trooper Timmy Saucier responded to the burglary. Daniel’s wife, contacted area recycling facilities to make them aware of the stolen batteries in the event they were cashed in at those locations.
Shortly after, a recycling facility in Bangor reported to State Police Troop F, that one of his employees had just taken in the batteries at their location. Trooper Saucier responded to their business and reviewed surveillance footage of the vehicle used by the person who turned in the stolen property as well as the operator and its passenger.
Troopers Brian Bean from Troop E Orono and Saucier located the vehicle used in the crime and identified Albert and Sinclair. Both subjects were interviewed and arrested for burglary and felony theft.
Both were transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton and booked on the charges. The cooperativeness of the recycling facility was a major factor in the quick solvability of this crime, police said. The stolen property was recovered and returned to Midnight Auto.
