PRESQUE ISLE — President Dana Connors and the staff of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce will be attending a regional breakfast meeting in Presque Isle on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
Connors, who once served as city manager for the Star City, will be on hand to meet with local business leaders, looking to gain insight that would be instrumental to an open dialogue about issues affecting businesses, area communities and the state.
Organizers are encouraging participation, with attendees sharing their expertise and input to make recommendations and to identify opportunities for moving Maine’s economy in a positive direction.
“This breakfast gives the business communities of Aroostook an opportunity to talk to Maine state representatives about issues businesses are faced with and want addressed by government officials in Augusta,” said Theresa Fowler, executive director, Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce.
Fowler said Connors and his staff are regularly in touch with state leaders, working to guarantee business owners’ concerns are heard in Augusta.
“The Maine State Chamber of Commerce has a lobbyist at the Blaine House daily who is in constant communication with state legislators,” said Fowler.
The breakfast, sponsored by LEAD and MMG Insurance, will be an informal group meeting of progressive business leaders from the region. The event will be held 7:30-9 a.m. at the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Campus Center.
