Evangelist to hold crusade at Pentecostal Church

For more than 30 years, Tiff Shuttlesworth has dedicated his life to one cause. That cause is helping people find a right relationship with God. During this time, Tiff has traveled extensively throughout North America and in over 25 countries around the world presenting hope in both message and music.

In 1994, he was inducted in Billy Graham’s “Notable Names in Evangelism.” He currently serves on the executive committee of the Proclamation Evangelism Network, under the auspices of the Billy Graham Center, Institute of Strategic Evangelism at Wheaton College.

Shuttlesworth is also a recording artist and musician whose talents have been featured on many television and radio programs. Many enjoy his versatile abilities as singer, songwriter and guitarist.

He is well known for his provoking and practical messages on real-life issues, and the fundamentals of finding purpose and passion for life. His messages relate to all age groups. Crusade times are 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday.

High school happenings

Upcoming events in the high school include the Senior Class Play Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. Also, the Varsity Club will be holding a supper and auction Nov. 19. The supper will begin at 5 p.m. and the auction will begin at 6 p.m. Hope to see you at these events!

Washburn ATV Club

Our last Club meeting for the year will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Washburn Trail Runners Snowmobile Club during our Club Members Christmas Party. Sesquicentennial Book

The Washburn history book entitled “150 Years of Memories” is a 181-page bound edition that covers local events from 1861 to current times. It includes many photos that will be an heirloom treasure for generations to come and will make great Christmas gifts, as well as a fine addition to home libraries. It provides an accurate overview of life in Washburn over the past 150 years with a wide array of stories covering local life and a concise history of Washburn’s business and community milestones.

It is available at the Washburn Town Office Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m.-noon. It will also be available at the Washburn Memorial Library during normal operating hours. The cost of the book is $20 with an additional $5 fee for mailing. All proceeds from the book will go towards the Washburn Mill Pond Project.

Library happenings

Please join the Washburn Memorial Library as we celebrate the fun of Thanksgiving. This Thanksgiving comes a little early, with a Story Hour Thursday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. The event will last approximately one hour and all children from ages three to 10 are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served. The library is located at 1290 Main St. in Washburn. Please call Katherine Veitschegger at 207-455-4814 with any questions.
