Goodall earns soccer award

    Patrick Goodall, a senior at Southern Aroostook Community School, was chosen as the Class D Butch Shaw Award winner.
    The Northern Maine Board of Approved Soccer Officials announced the winners of the annual award presented to the outstanding soccer players during the 2011 season in Aroostook County.
    The award is named in memory of Clyde “Butch” Shaw, an outstanding athlete, coach and official in Aroostook County, who passed away in 1985.
    Goodall, along with Jordan McLaughlin of Washburn represent the Class D boys, while Parise Rossignol of Van Buren and Mackenzie Worcester of Washburn were the Class D girl winners.
    In Class C, Ian Lee and Nicole Cyr, both of Madawaska were awarded, while in Class B, Isaac Lajoie of Presque Isle and Chad Caverhill of Caribou were named the boys winners, while Kayla Richards of Presque Isle received the girls award.
