Tim Hortons to host sixth annual food

PRESQUE ISLE — All Presque Isle-area Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shops are gearing up for the sixth annual food drive supporting the Catholic Charities of Maine.

Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop and Cumulus Radio have partnered to put on this program since 2005.

Restaurant owners are encouraging guests to donate nonperishable foods throughout the week of Nov. 14. The donations will be delivered to Catholic Charities of Maine, which supports 24 food banks throughout Aroostook County.

“Every year it seems that more people are in need and our local food banks have less,” said Troy Chamberlain, Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop owner. “I know myself and other owners are grateful for our guests who support our business every day. We hope they also will help their neighbors in need this Thanksgiving.”

As an incentive for the community’s participation, on Saturday, Nov. 19, Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop is giving all guests who donate food items a free medium hot coffee.

Participating Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop drop-off locations include: Madawaska, Houlton, Caribou and Presque Isle restaurants.
