Limestone Chamber elects new directors

LIMESTONE — The Greater Limestone Chamber of Commere’s annual meeting drew a group of about 18 for dinner and conversation at the Limestone Country Club on Nov. 10.

During the evening’s Year in Review for the GLCC, past secretary Grace O’Neal provided a detailed list of goals set by chamber members in 2011 and informed the audience that the chamber had met each of those five goals.

The GLCC coordinated ongoing quarterly networking functions (with the upcoming event slated for next month), introduced a new logo for the chamber, established a presence on Facebook, developed a new, updated brochure to promote the town as well as recently signing a contract for a new Limestone Chamber of Commerce website.

The guest speaker for the evening was Matt Grillo, director of residential life and dean of students at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Grillo gave an informative update on school happenings, including student activities and curriculum. Past President of the Limestone Rotary Club Cliff Rhome was also in attendance at the Chamber dinner, providing an update on the organization’s current projects.

Officers and new board members were voted on during the annual meeting. The recently- elected officers include President Joe LaPierre, Vice President Michelle Albert, Secretary Tanya Leighton, and Treasurer Mary Amuzzi.

Named to three-year terms on the Board of Directors were Grace O’Neal, Geri Martin and Karalena Castaway. Serving two-year terms on the board include Donna Bernier, Danielle Michaud and Mark Bouchard. Named to one-year terms on the board were Stacy Mahan, Natalie Bazinet and Wendy Bencivenga. Alternates are Michaela Sainte and Brian Leighton.
