SHERMAN — The Molunkus Valley Sno-Drifters held its 7th annual Christmas Parade Nov. 28 in Sherman. According to event organizer Deb Long, who also serves as president of the snowmobile club, “the weather was great, crowd watching was awesome and the parade was small, but mighty. Everyone won a prize.”
Winners in the parade were: “Best Parade Entry,” Ford Sleigh with Santa; “Originality,” Patten Fire Department, followed by Santa float and Smokey the Bear; “humorous” was the Ford sleigh; “Decorative,” Sherman Fire; and “Wheelers,” a soldier back home.
“We really would like to see more people participate in this event as it is always a lot of fun,” Long said. “We had Santa at the Clubhouse, where each child big or little could tell Santa what they wanted. He gave them each something and also gave them a candy cane, bag of popcorn, then had cookies, cake, and milk with them followed by tree lighting and Christmas caroling”
Long said she appreciated the businesses that generously donate to the event. Anyone is welcome to join the club. For more information, visit the group’s Facebook page.
