Meaning of Christmas

To the editor:

In a few weeks we will be celebrating Christmas which has a different meaning to each of us.

There will be some who will take it as a day to make money.

Some will take it as a day to show their love for family members.

Some will take it as a paid day off from work to eat, drink and be merry.

Little thought will be given to the fact it is the greatest day in the history of the world, the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that He died on a cross that we might have eternal life.

He left us with directions how we can attain eternal life.

When the Weather Bureau puts out a weather alert, people start preparing for what is to come. I believe we are at the point in history where the people should start preparing for what is to come; the Second Coming of Christ.

May everyone have a Merry Christmas regardless of your views on the meaning of Christmas Day.
