Preganancy Care Center
raises thousands at annual dinner event
PRESQUE ISLE — “Expanding Our Reach” was the theme of the ninth annual Fall Fundraising Banquet for the Pregnancy Care Center on Nov. 3 at the Northeastland Hotel.
About 112 people were in attendance as the organization looked back at its history and celebrated the lives that were impacted by the ministry of the PCC.
“It was amazing to reflect on how the Lord used a few ladies with a vision to help women in crisis pregnancy,” said Christie Corey, the executive director the Pregnancy Care Center, “and he just grew that vision to not only provide material assistance, but to develop a program such as the ‘Give Moms Credit’ program. This program provides an opportunity to present the Gospel and give care to the spiritual needs.”
The program also praised the people that preceded Corey. The previous directors lauded were Wendy Lord, Bryan Lawrence, Nancy Nichols, Diane Jurson, Lynn Skehan, Eva Ireland and Rachel Juris.
“We also acknowledged the many dedicated volunteers and board members who served at the PCC,” said Corey.
The banquet raised $13,000 dollars and Corey said more donations are coming in.
The Presque Isle Pregnancy Care Center opened in 1985 and was the first of its kind in the state. A satellite office opened in Houlton in 2001 and this past June a Fort Kent office was established.
