Caribou Middle School basketball

The Caribou Middle School eighth grade boys basketball team picked up a pair of wins over the past week.

On Tuesday, Dec. 6 the Vikings lead from start to finish picking up a 53-17 victory over Madawaska.

Donovan Savage nailed four three-pointers en route to 20 points for Caribou. Ricky Sheldon added 10 points and Michael Hunter seven points.

The Caribou Middle School coach praised the defensive efforts of Tyler Dombroski and Jordan Bevins.

It was defense which helped Caribou avenge an early season loss to the Fort Fairfield Tigers. On Friday Dec. 9 the Vikings played a smothering man-to-man defense and beat the Tigers 45-10.

Caribou’s balanced scoring attack was led by Savage with nine points and Ethan Plourde with eight points.

Gaining praise from their coach for their defensive efforts were Dylan LaMothe, Zach Weatherhead and Mason Huck.

The Vikings are now 3-1 on the season.
