United Insurance Company employees in Presque Isle raised $1,000 and collected necessities to benefit Homeless Services of Aroostook. Since September, employees worked together to collect the money and needed items for the shelter. Staff paid for jean days (casual days), held auctions for time off from work, brought in “needs items” and instead of exchanging gifts at their annual Christmas party, opted to donate money to the nonprofit to help those less fortunate this holiday season. Staff was happy to take part in the effort, proving just how much good a small group working together can do. Making the presentation are, in front, seated from left: Cal Deschene, agency manager; and Steve Eyler, executive director, Homeless Services of Aroostook.
