News from Hodgdon High School
The English and Library Departments at Hodgdon High School held a Book Door Event in November to celebrate what teachers and staff have been reading. The students and staff enjoyed walking past the colorful doors and seeing all the various types of reading material enjoyed and delighted in by staff this November.
Teachers are currently reading the book titled, The Answer Is in the Room by Alan M. Blankstein, for professional development. Blankstein is Founder and President of the HOPE (Harnessing Optimism and Potential through Education) Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting educational leaders over time in creating school cultures where failure is not an option for any student. Additional examples of the tools discussed in the book, along with forums for dialogue are available to readers at www.answerisintheroom.org.

Hodgdon High School has a beautiful legacy of honoring those who have fought and are fighting for our country in the armed forces. To carry that tradition to another level, some students and staff members at Hodgdon High School are creating a book to preserve the memories and experiences of our local veterans. This Veteran History Project will be a written legacy that will be passed down to future generations; celebrating the service of our brave men and women in the Southern Aroostook area.
If you are a veteran, or know a veteran who would be willing to spend time with our volunteers, please consider contacting us and sharing your life with generations to come. We know this will be a life-changing experience for all involved. If you are interested, please contact myself or Kara Wright at 207-532-2413 or log onto www.msad70.org and email the above contacts from the web page. Let the story of your life live on forever in the written word.
