PIHS hockey team picks up road win
The Presque Isle High School hockey team picked up their first win of the season over the weekend against Lawrence, 8-1.
Saturday in central Maine the Wildcats jumped out to a quick four to one lead after one period to dominate the 1-2 Bulldogs. Tyler Seeley scored 45 seconds into the contest to give Presque Isle a one to nothing advantage. Seeley added another goal in the second period.
Also having a big scoring day for the 1-2 Wildcats were Isaac LaJoie, who had two goals and an assist, and Connor Shaw, who had two goals and two assists.
The other two Presque Isle goals were scored by Adam Flynn and Colin McKay.
Nic Davis was in goal for the Wildcats.
The previous night Presque Isle took on Messalonskee (2-1) and dropped that match 8-3. The Eagles dominated the puck, out shooting Presque Isle 43-23.
Scoring for the Wildcats were Cody Merrill, Flynn and LaJoie.
Presque Isle hosted Houlton-Hodgdon last night at the Forum and hosts John Bapst on Friday at 7 p.m.
