Basketball season going strong in Easton
EASTON NEWS
by Debbie Smith
We would like to wish all of the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams the best of luck this season.
You all put in a lot of hard work every day and we do appreciate that. I believe we are going to have a lot of great teams this year. We are behind you cheering you on all the way. We have already had an injury with Holden Turner not being able to play for a few weeks. We are so sorry for this accident, but do hope to see him on the court real soon. We know how hard it must be to sit back and watch and not be able to play. Speedy recovery to you, Holden.
Birthdays and anniversaries
On Dec. 28, Mason Pelletier, Cindy Bomar, Stephanie Rice, Jerry Flewelling, Rilee Ann Robbins and Samantha Tibbetts all have a birthday to celebrate. Also Dec. 28, Doug and Barb Blackstone have an anniversary. On Dec. 29, Alan Trook, Jamie Wells, Debbie Smith, Steve Budreau and Jeffrey McAdam all have a birthday. A very special birthday wish to my brother who was born on my second birthday. Lots of love to you on your special day. On Dec. 30, Loren West and Steve Whittaker both have a birthday. Nathan-Manning-Harris and Deborah Young will be turning another year older Dec. 31. Blessings to you all on your special day.
For those of you who wish to still have your birthday or anniversary in the paper, you will have to e-mail them to me or call me at 488-5530. The Kiwanis calendar will no longer be published. That is what I go by to put them in the newspaper. My e-mail address is debbiesmith04_69@hotmail.com. Thank you.
Snowshoeing opportunities
Looking for a fun (and healthy) activity for the winter? Head out to the Science Center for some snowshoe hiking. Our trails are in the woods directly across the street, ranging in length from 0.5-2 miles. For evening hikers, reflective tacks have been placed on the trees; flashlights are recommended. Visitors are asked to sign in at the wooden box upon entering the woods. Please read and follow all posted rules. Trails are for snowshoeing only. Dogs are allowed on trails unless otherwise marked. There is no fee to use our trails. If you need snowshoes, we have various sizes (16-inch to 30-inch) available for rent at $2 per pair, but must be reserved ahead of time. Group reservations are encouraged (recreation groups, schools, Scouts, adult groups, etc.). Please call 488-5451 for further information or reservations.
